Catavina is a gigantic rock garden with
stands of blue palm trees. The palms are a botanic legacy from pre-historic
days before an earthquake did split Baja from the Mexican mainland. Catavina
was the historic point at which the north and south portions of Hwy 1 met
in 1973.
